I grew up on on Lara Croft. I watched every movie I could find about her, so every time I find a comic about the legendary treasure hunter I pick it up.
Currently, Lara Croft is searching for the legendary city of Shangri la, and has a bit of a journey she goes through to get there. This is the only comic from this series that I have and it is volume 1 issue 11. So I have at least 10 issues to collect until I am caught up to this issue.
That’s one of the things I love about comic books. Each chapter is an entity on its own and so much can happen in such a short span.
The Art
I love the art style in this comic. It sticks with the traditional art style of comic books, but that is something I have enjoyed for a while. The colors, the line work all really brings the pictures to life and adds to that special comic book feeling.
The Writing
This issue is a whirlwind from start to finish. I’m not sure what happened in issue 10, but Lara croft is on the move, and needs a vehicle which means she has to steal one. They just so happen to steal a chopper from a foreign military base before they head off with one problem. The military is hot on their trail. Thankfully, Lara Croft is prepared for everything.
This is definitely an old school Lara Croft story, with treasure hunting and an exciting chase mixed in.
If you love treasure hunting, high speed chases, and a woman up for anything including stealing helicopters then I recommend checking this series out!
