Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone on the interwebs is doing well today.
I have a novel update!
First things first, I have hit 50k words!
Which is about 80 pages on Microsoft word! I honestly, didn’t think that I would make it this far, but as the story flows and I write it just keeps coming. I’m very excited in the direction my book is taking, and I cannot wait to share it with everyone.
That being said!
I’ll be going through my first round of edits 5/2023, and after that rewrite I will be ready for beta readers!
I’ll be putting out sign-ups through my instagram: Squidney_skye for those who are interested in applying! But that’s coming soon its still a few months before I’ll be ready for that.
Lastly, I got the first character art sketch back from my artist! (conny_artz)
Its a simple portrait of Astrid that I’m considering making into a sticker!
but the artist has gone above and beyond my expectations and I will be commissioning portraits of all of our characters as her time, and my money permits (a girl still has to eat and get dunkin).
This book has been a long time coming, and I know it won’t be perfect after the first draft, but I am so excited to see progress not in the story but outside of the story with you guys! It has been an interesting journey so far as a writer, as an aspiring author but I’m at the point where this is it for me. My calling. So no giving up this time.
I’m looking forward to the day I can hold my book in my hands, and I am so thankful for all of the friends I have made along the way Deanna, Sam, Kailee. Those I trust enough to alpha-read my first draft have continued to push me and help me become not just a better writer but also a better friend. Thank you for all of your support and I cannot wait to see what big things come next for all of us!
