Twisted Sinner E-book Review

By Cara Bianchi

Blurb:

Leo Zhubarev.

Most people don’t know his name. They call him Volk Smerti – Death Wolf.

He’s a ghost, a wraith, a reaper.

Some don’t believe he’s a man at all. But I know better.

Sinfully sexy. Ocean eyes, filthy mouth. Cold heart and blood-soaked hands.

One fateful night, I danced with the devil. I fell into his arms, then his bed.

I was lucky to get away with just a broken heart. It wasn’t until later that I realized he had left something important behind.

Our baby daughter.

When he comes for me, I have no choice but to stay by his side. Someone out there wants me dead, and he’s my only hope of survival.

Leo is a murderer. An assassin with no conscience. He cares for nothing and no one.
Except me.

I find myself wanting to reach inside him and find out who he really is. But as we grow closer, his darkness stains my soul until I don’t know what to believe.

As we’re dragged into a twisted mess of blood, lies, and corruption, one question plagues my thoughts.

Will the man who loves me be the one to kill me?

Twisted Sinner is a standalone dark mafia romance that exists in the same universe as Depraved Royals (you do not need to read any of my other books to enjoy this one!). It contains strong sexual content from the start and throughout. Please check trigger/content warnings at the start of the book for a comprehensive list.

Genre: Dark Mafia Romance

Trigger warnings: Yes there are a lot of them, they are mentioned in the blurb as well as at the beginning of the book. PLEASE double check trigger warnings before you decide to read this book. We don’t need our indie authors getting backlash for the story they feel compelled to tell because someone ignored the damn trigger warnings.

Writing Style

Is the author’s writing style interesting why or why not?

Yes, because I did not see the ending coming from a mile away, until the grand reveal of who the true villain was. I love the plot twists, because there are three that I can think of off the top of my head that I didn’t see coming. I love the quirks she has given her characters, but I also love how she introduces and weaves them into the story that she is telling.

What POV is the story written?

The book is written in dual POV, split between Ali and Leo.

Character information

Who are the main characters?

Ali is the thief that specializes in safes who is haunted by her brutal past. She ends up running into Leo, a contract killer, who works for the Bratvah while they are both on assignment. The story takes off from there taking its characters on crazy twists and turns that left me shocked.

Can you relate to the characters?

Yes, because although I don’t know what it is to deal with the mafia I do know what its like to be betrayed by someone who I should’ve been able to trust with anything.

My Opinions

Did you discover a new favorite?

Yes, I plan on reading Cara’s other book as soon as I can fit it into my schedule.

What did you like?

I liked the dialogue. The surprise of Luna, and the reactions of the characters as the story progresses. I like that this book is fast paced, and was a fast read while still maintaining pacing that works with the story.

What did you feel while writing?

Excitement, panic, turned on, fear. This book had me on the edge of my seat through a lot of it.

Would you recommend this book?

Yes! It was a fantastic read, and was a wild ride.
